The Marshall County Plan Commission discussed how to proceed with the updating of the comprehensive plan for the county at their meeting on Thursday Sept. 24th.
County Plan Director Nicholas Witwer approached the board for direction in how to proceed with hiring a company to perform the work.
Witwer said there were several companies interested in the work and asked if the Commission would like to hire a company directly or ask for a request for proposal (RFP).
A question arose about costs for the service.
Witwer said that he anticipated that the cost would be relatively similar from the various companies and sait that he felt the cost would be in the neighborhood of $100,000 to $150,00 to re-do the plan.
He also said that the Marshall County Council and Commissioners had budgeted $80,000 for the process.
The Board directed Witwer to ask companies interested in the work to make a presentation to them at a future meeting.
