A 41-year-old man was arrested a week ago, Thursday evening, after a citizen's report of a reckless driver on US 31 led deputies to discover he was operating a vehicle, highly intoxicated, and without a license.
According to a release from the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, dispatchers broadcast an alert at approximately 8:29 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, regarding a reckless or impaired driver traveling southbound on US 31 near 11th Road.
Marshall County Sheriff's deputies, including Deputy Alex Truty, quickly located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop after observing a moving violation. During the ensuing investigation, the driver, identified as Leslie D. Allen II, exhibited clear signs of alcohol intoxication.
Allen was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked on preliminary charges of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .15% or more, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated - endangering, and operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license.
His bond was set at $1,500.
