Kenneth and Michelle Bachtel made their request to rezone their property from C-2 Highway Commercial District to A-1 Agricultural at the May meeting of the County Plan Commission. They told the Plan Commission they have no intention of creating a commercial business at the site and the property was previously zoned A-1. Mrs. Bachtel said the goal is to make it their retirement residence.
A public hearing was conducted with no comments and the county plan commission unanimously sent a favorable recommendation of the rezoning request.
At Monday’s Commissioner meeting, County Plan Director Ty Adley presented the rezoning request to change the zoning from C-2 to A-1. The commissioners conducted a public hearing of the rezoning request of Kenneth and Michelle Bachtel and there were no comments.
Commissioner Kevin Overmyer made a request to approve the rezoning request on the first reading. He then motioned to suspend the rules since there were no comments against the request and passed the rezoning ordinance on the second and third reading and it unanimously was approved by the commissioners.
