A game changer.
That is how Cloverdale Town Council President Brandon Tancak viewed the news this week that his town received $750 thousand for water utility system improvements.
"It's another piece of the puzzle as we continue to position the town for success," Tancak told The Putnam County Post.
The money was part of more than $10.8 million in federal funding given by the Office of Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs to expand community facilities, improve water infrastructure and eliminate blight.
The funds for Cloverdale will go toward improving the town's water utility system, upgrading the water treatment plant, booster station and water main in order to serve Stardust Hills better, according to Tancak.
"We will be upgrading a water main on Beagle Club Road to a 10 foot line that will will help for future development. Also, we will be using these funds for multiple upgrades at our water plant," Tancak said.
While the funds will help with upgrades, Tancak said residents won't see much of the work being done due to the nature of the projects, but they will, potentially, feel the impact.
"It's a good feeling. It's an absolute win for the town, and I can assure the public that sooner rather than later, they will actually be able to see the work we have been doing, and that's the fun part," Tancak said.
