On Tuesday, January 7th, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a Marshall County K9 Deputy conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 30 near Oak Road in Plymouth, for a moving violation.
During the investigation, probable cause was obtained to search the vehicle. During the search, a large amount of suspected narcotics were located.
The passenger of the vehicle 61-year-old Alfredo Arce Rodriguez of Illinois was placed into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for dealing in cocaine as a level 2 felony. He was held with no bond.
The Marshall County Drug Task Force assisted in this investigation.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
