The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that the intersection of U.S. 52 and Bittner Road / County Road 450 W. in New Palestine will be converted to an all-way stop on or after Monday, March 25.
The all-way stop will replace the existing two-way stop on a six-month trial basis. The purpose of this trial period is to study how the new traffic pattern impacts traffic flow and crashes at the intersection. Once the trial period is over, INDOT traffic engineers will look at the findings and determine the best configuration for the intersection.
Portable message boards will be placed near the intersection ahead of the traffic pattern change to alert drivers. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
