Waldron got a pair of straight-set wins in the doubles matches to propel itself to a second consecutive Shelby County Boys Tennis Tournament championship Saturday at Southwestern.
Waldron and Triton Central swept Southwestern and Morristown, respectively, to set up the championship match.
At No. 1 doubles, Waldron’s Jackson Kuhn and Caige Sheaffer defeated Triton Central’s Graham Gast and Cash Eck, 6-0, 6-1.
Wyatt Armstrong and Owen Hartman produced a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles over Triton Central’s Colton Ayres and Brylon Scott.
Charlie Fischer and Lincoln Fischer added singles victories for Waldron to complete the 4-1 victory over the Tigers.
Charlie Fischer bested Brayden Hoover, 7-6 (6), 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
Lincoln Fischer topped Bradyn Robinson, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 singles.
Drayton Kermode secured Triton Central’s only victory at No. 3 singles with a 6-7 (4), 6-0, 10-7 win over Noah Leap.
