Julia R. Stockman was born April 25, 1927, on the family farm south of Plymouth, Indiana. She remained on the family farm until 2024 and passed away at the age of 99 on September 11, 2026. Julia was a farmer through and through. After her father, Earl Stockman, passed, she and her mother, Mary (VanVactor) Stockman, farmed the 80 acres together, and after Mary passed, Julia continued to farm for several years. She had a beloved dog, Socks, who followed her everywhere. Julia was proud to be a class of 1945 graduate from Plymouth High School.
In addition to her farming responsibilities, Julia worked at Lemert Engineering and Hehr International in Plymouth from where she retired.
She faithfully attended the Inwood United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed going out to lunch with her friends after church. Julia could be a little outspoken but had a great sense of humor and a servant heart, helping others when she saw a need.
Julia is survived locally by cousins, Jon (Ruth and Ethan) VanVactor, and dear friends, Jeff and Lenore Jones. Also surviving are several cousins and friends.
