MERRILLVILLE - The Plymouth Rockies placed 4th this past Saturday at the Merrillville Invitational.
The Rockies had a strong showing against Highland, winning 60-18 in round 1. In round 2, Plymouth fell short by one point to Hobart, 37-36. In round 3, the team bounced back with a win over FW Carroll, 42-36. Advancing to the upper pool in round 4 against Merrillville, Plymouth battled hard, but was dominated by the host team, 60-15. In the fifth and final round the Rockies where outmatched by West Lafayette Harrison, 54-22.
Junior Wesley Smith was able to keep his undefeated streak alive going 5-0 on the day and improves to 16-0 on the season. Fellow juniors Caydn Smith and Anthony Popi had strong showings going 4-1 on the day.
