The quest for a regional softball championship ended Saturday for the Lawrenceville Lady softball Indians.
They were knocked off 4-1 by the host Edwards County Lady Lions Saturday May 23rd in the Class 1A final at Albion.
The Lady Lions scored 3 unanswered runs after breaking a 1-1 tie after one inning to pick up the win. They scored 4 runs on only 4 hits and made 1 error while the Lady Indians scored 1 time on 3 hits and made 4 errors. Brina Opat, Reagan Ivers, and Alix Garza had the Lady Indian hits with Garza the RBI.
The Lady Indians bow out at 9-19 on the season while Edwards County improves to 21-12 on the season. The Lady Lions will face Stewardson- in the semi-finals of the Class 1A Casey-Westfield Sectional.
