On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Lane D. Robinson felt the loving embrace of his father, J.D. Robinson, for the first time as he welcomed him into Heaven.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Lane D. Robinson felt the loving embrace of his father, J.D. Robinson, for the first time as he welcomed him into Heaven. They will both be forever 23 years old.
Lane was born February 7, 2003, in Vincennes, IN to Jerry Dane “J.D.” Robinson, Jr. and Whisper Fleetwood Shick. He grew up in Lawrenceville and graduated from Lawrenceville High School in 2021.
He had a wonderfully soft way about him and was a beautiful soul. He had worked as a member of the production team at Hershey in Robison, was a NASA fanatic, and loved being a Chicago Bears fan. He spent time watching movies, exploring technology (especially in his Tesla), and had a special affinity for animals…especially cats.
Those left to honor the life of Lane are: his loving mother- Whisper Shick and husband Matt of Lawrenceville; three siblings Kady Shick and her significant other Evan Campbell, Sawyer Shick, and M.J. Hoke all of Lawrenceville; one honorary brother- Jake Koonce of Lawrenceville; paternal grandparents- Jerry and Marty Robinson of Lawrenceville; nephew- Waylon Koonce of Lawrenceville; aunts and uncles- Cody Robinson and wife Emily of Olney, Karen Schmeling and husband John of Vincennes, IN, Darin Garner of Lawrenceville, and Kris Garner and wife Juliann of Sarasota, FL; numerous cousins including one special cousin- Aubree Garner.
He was preceded in death by: his dad- J.D. Robinson; maternal grandparents- Sally and Earl Fleetwood; one brother- Kody Shick; and two uncles- Kevin Garner and Bob Garner.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Central Christian Church of Lawrenceville. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the church as well. Lane will be laid to rest next to his dad in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
