INDOT officials, as well as City of Greencastle officials will meet with residents Monday at 6 p.m. at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building.
The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a series of closures on U.S. 231 in Greencastle for storm/sanitary sewer, water main work, resurfacing, and curb/gutter work in Greencastle.
Beginning on or after Monday, March 3, crews will close U.S. 231 between Bloomington Street and N Jackson Street in Greencastle to continue construction for this project. The closures will be in effect 24 hours daily, seven days a week. During this phase of construction, crews will be focusing on road rehabilitation on U.S. 231 between Frazier Street and Washington Street.
The official detour around the closure is U.S. 231 to eastbound/westbound U.S. 40. Traffic can also utilize State Road 240 to northbound/southbound S.R. 75 to eastbound/westbound U.S. 36 to U.S. 231.
As work continues through town, INDOT encourages drivers to use caution while traveling around the work zone and to seek an alternate route.
