Two people were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning at the intersection of U.S. 31 and State Road 110.
Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting the crash at approximately 9:25 a.m. on February 18.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, a 2012 Chevy Silverado driven by 75-year-old Robert Rothenberger of Kewanna was traveling eastbound when it failed to yield to a northbound semi-tractor trailer.
The semi, a 2012 Volvo driven by 47-year-old Alberto Rodriguez of Illinois, was unable to avoid the collision. The impact forced the Silverado off the east side of the roadway, where it came to rest. The semi was able to pull onto the shoulder.
Rothenberger and a passenger in the Silverado were transported to the hospital with various complaints of pain.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the Argos Police Department, Argos Fire & EMS, Lutheran Air Ambulance, and Tim's Towing.
