A 47-year-old Plymouth man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after a juvenile reported a domestic altercation on Wednesday evening.
Just before 6 p.m. on February 18, Plymouth Police were dispatched to the police department to speak with a juvenile who wished to report an incident involving an adult family member. The juvenile alleged they had been battered and strangled by the adult, identified as Kristopher Bugg of Plymouth.
Following the report, officers located Bugg outside his residence in the 400 block of North Liberty Street. After conducting interviews, officers took Bugg into custody. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Based on information obtained and observations made during the investigation, Plymouth officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for the residence. During the subsequent search, officers located suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the home.
Bugg was lodged at the Marshall County Jail on preliminary felony charges of strangulation, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of a legend drug. He also faces misdemeanor charges of domestic battery, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. He is currently being held on a $3,000 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
