The Indiana Department of Transportation announces truck traffic will be restricted on State Road 28 over U.S. 31 as roundabout reconstruction work continues in Tipton.
Beginning on or after Monday, April 6, truck traffic will be restricted on S.R. 28 between the U.S. 31 interchanges. Crews are widening the roundabout truck aprons as part of the roundabout reconstruction.
Several width restrictions will be in place through the end of June. During this time, trucks and other large vehicles should watch for signs announcing the restrictions. The official detour will follow U.S. 31, State Road 26, State Road 29, and S.R. 28.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and use extra caution while traveling in and around work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
