The History of Greencastle Junction and Limedale – Talk at Putnam County Museum

On October 1, Putnam County historian Larry Tippin will be speaking at Putnam County Museum on the history of Greencastle Junction and Limedale.

“The area that we now know as Limedale has a fascinating history as a hub of some of the busiest railroad depots in our county’s history,” says museum director Rachel Barr. “Larry does a great job of explaining the early history and development of this area, before, during, and after the era of the railroads.”

This talk is one of a series given by Larry Tippin on the towns and settlements across Putnam County. Previous talks focused on the history of Roachdale, early education in Putnam County, and more. These talks take place on the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.

The Putnam County Museum is located at 1105 North Jackson Street, just north of downtown Greencastle. Opening hours are Monday-Friday 10-4 and Saturday 12-4. Admission to the museum is free.
