Two people from South Bend were arrested Tuesday evening, August 13th following a traffic stop at U.S. 30 and Pioneer Drive.
Officer Fisher with the Plymouth Police Department stopped a vehicle at about 7:45 for speeding, 72 in a 50-MPH zone. While speaking to the driver the officer could smell the strong odor of fresh marijuana in the vehicle.
The driver was identified as 28-year-old Mario Costilla and the passenger was identified as 34-year-old Tiffany Dobrzynski both of South Bend.
During Officer Fisher’s investigation, it was determined that Costilla had a state warrant in Sandusky, Ohio. It was also determined that Costilla had been drinking. A warrant was signed for a blood draw from Costilla, and certified test results showed Costilla's blood alcohol content was .092.
Costilla was arrested for the Ohio warrant and additional charges of OWI and OWI Endangerment. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,500 cash bond.

The officer also found marijuana in the vehicle and Dobrzynski advised the marijuana was hers. Dobrzynski was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. She was transported to the Marshall County Jail, booked in at 8:45 and released at 12:55 a.m. after posting a cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
