Solar panels were the focus of a presentation to the Bridgeport City Council.
A representative for a company that puts floating solar panels on bodies of water made a presentation at the meeting to put panels on the city's 16 acre sewage lagoon field. The city council decided to table the discussion and do their due diligence on whether it would be beneficial.
In other council news, the council discussed planting some trees in Lanterman Park including long term trees such as maple and oak as well as smaller flowering trees that will grow fast and provide shade in the next couple of years. A lot of trees in the park were cut down last year because of their poor condition. The hope is to have the trees planted by the end of the month so they can start to take root before it gets cold.
