A social media post from the Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department says Friday's all-day rain forecast has led to the postponement of the summer's first Music in the Park concert.
The post reads: Due to the predicted weather moving into the area, Music in the Park concert scheduled for Friday, June 26 has been postponed. This was not an easy decision, but there are many factors to consider, including the band, the stage setup, sound and lighting equipment, and the safety of everyone planning to attend. We are working diligently to reschedule the event and will share the new date as soon as everything is confirmed.
Boys in the Band, an Alabama tribute band, will return to Shelbyville on Sept. 18.
The next scheduled Music in the Park concert is July 17 with the Sam Morrison Band performing Southern Rock.
