Ribbon Cutting for ChatRX June 16, a medical technology company opening in Plymouth

Plymouth Mayor Robert Listenberger will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 18 at 10 a.m. The event is set to take place at City Hall, located at 124 North Michigan Street. This ceremony honors Dr. Tod Stillson, a Marshall County native, who has retired from his local medical practice and is now the founder and CEO of ChatRX.

ChatMD announced on Wednesday that ChatRx, a medical technology company specializing in AI-powered healthcare solutions, has established its headquarters in Plymouth and will launch its telemedicine platform on June 16, 2025.

The company currently employs 10 people in Northern Indiana and anticipates expanding to more than 20 employees by the end of 2026. ChatRx projects nearly $4.6 million in revenue by year two, representing substantial economic activity for the region.

"We chose Marshall County as our home base because of the strong work ethic and community support we've found here," said Dr. Tod Stillson, founder and CEO of ChatRx. "This is where we're building the future of accessible healthcare, and we're excited to grow our team with local talent."

The company, founded by Dr. Tod Stillson, who also serves as CEO, has developed an FDA-registered medical device that provides diagnosis and treatment for 37 common acute conditions through text-based interactions. The platform serves patients across Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois, with Kansas and Oregon to follow soon. A staggered nationwide rollout is planned for late 2025 or early 2026.

ChatRx is designed for everyone, everywhere, meeting the needs of busy families, rural communities, working professionals, students, and those with limited insurance coverage alike. Its intelligent technology platform removes barriers to fast, affordable healthcare access, whether geographic, financial, or logistical. While the over 28 million uninsured Americans and millions more who are underinsured will find particular value in the service, ChatRx empowers all individuals with instant, on-demand care from anywhere. As the platform scales across the U.S., it also fuels local economic growth and innovation in Northern Indiana’s emerging health tech sector.

"Companies like ChatRx demonstrate that Northern Indiana is an ideal location for technology-driven businesses," said Dr. Stillson. "We're proud to contribute to the local economy while serving patients throughout the region and beyond."

The medical technology sector represents a growing opportunity for rural communities to attract high-value businesses and skilled workers. The company is planning to recruit for positions in technology, customer service, and business operations starting in the fall of this year.

ChatRx expects to announce additional hiring and expansion plans later in 2025 as the company scales its operations to serve a growing patient base nationwide.
