The Marshall County Health Department is providing clarification regarding information shared in a previous measles-related communication.
Following further review of the case by the Indiana Department of Health, there is currently no confirmed case of measles involving a Marshall County resident. The patient associated with the reported case was evaluated and tested by a healthcare provider in Marshall County; however, the individual is a resident of LaGrange County. Therefore, the confirmed measles case is now attributed to LaGrange County.
While there is currently not a confirmed case of measles in Marshall County, the Marshall County Health Department continues to closely monitor the situation and encourages residents to review their immunization records. Measles is a highly contagious disease, and maintaining high vaccination coverage is the most effective way to protect individuals and our community.
