Plymouth traffic stop leads to arrest for unlicensed driving

A routine traffic stop on Monday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a Plymouth woman after police discovered she was operating a vehicle without ever having obtained a driver's license.

On Monday, March 16, Patrolman Thornton with the Plymouth Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle near the intersection of Baker Street and Columbus Drive.

While speaking with the driver, identified as 49-year-old Francisca Concepcion Matute Matute of West Garro Street, officers determined that she had never been issued a driver's license. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Matute had previously been arrested for the same offense.

Matute was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where she was booked at 3:57 p.m. She faces preliminary charges of driving while suspended with a prior conviction and operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license with a prior conviction.

According to jail records, Matute's cash bond was posted shortly after her booking at 4:41 p.m., and she was subsequently released.
