Plymouth teen arrested after fleeing police in rock-throwing incident

An 18-year-old Plymouth resident is facing multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from police who were investigating a disturbance near the local railroad tracks on Wednesday afternoon.

Just before 5:00 p.m. on March 25th, Corporal Schieber of the Plymouth Police Department was dispatched to the area of Lake Avenue and Center Street. The response followed a complaint made to Marshall County Central Dispatch reporting that multiple individuals were throwing rocks from a nearby bridge and causing a disturbance.

Upon arriving at the scene, Corporal Schieber spotted three subjects on the railroad tracks. According to the police report, the officer ordered the individuals to stop, but they fled the area on foot. Following a brief pursuit, the three suspects were apprehended behind Bowen Printing.

Authorities identified two of the subjects as juveniles. The third individual was identified as 18-year-old Rider Kunkle, a resident of Lake Avenue in Plymouth.

Kunkle was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He is currently being held on a $750 cash bond and faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and railroad trespassing.

The Plymouth Police Department was assisted in the response and apprehension by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
