Plymouth Police Department officers handled two separate disturbance-related incidents over the weekend, resulting in arrests for domestic battery, intimidation, and criminal mischief.
On Sunday, June 28th, Corporal Ben McIntyre located 45-year-old Timothy Hatton of the 1000 block of West Jefferson Street and took him into custody. Hatton was transported to the Marshall County Jail on charges of domestic battery with simple assault and communication intimidation. He was held on a $500 cash bond.
Monday night at 11:15 p.m., Plymouth Police were dispatched to an address on Loon Court for a reported disturbance in progress. Arriving officers discovered that a brick had been used to damage a victim's vehicle. Following a brief investigation, Officer Witkowski determined that 42-year-old Suyapa Damary Galeano Matute of the 700 block of Loon Court was responsible. She was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a charge of criminal mischief at midnight. Her cash bond was posted at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, and she was released.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
