Plymouth Police arrest suspect in Friday morning battery

On Friday morning, August 28th, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Plymouth Police and Plymouth EMS were dispatched to 1311 West Jefferson Street in response to a battery that had taken place.

The male victim was located and taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Officer Fase with the Plymouth Police Department began the investigation. The suspect was identified as Steven Bishop, 30, of Plymouth.

City officers attempted to make contact with Bishop but were unsuccessful.

At approximately 12:10 p.m., Bishop turned himself in at the Plymouth Police Department. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a preliminary charge of battery resulting in bodily injury.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
