Park Superintendent Mike Hite said his staff is continuing to do spring clean-up in all the parks, resumed mowing, and refurbished several signs around Centennial Park.
Recreation and pool director Abby Collins said they had a great turnout for the Solar Eclipse in the Park event, in which they collaborated with the Plymouth Public Library and Heartland Artists. The park also hosted an Arbor Day/Earth Day clean-up event in Centennial Park on April 22nd working with the Plymouth High School Student Council, Mayor Listenberger, and the Marshall County Recycle Depot. Collins noted that they are still looking for two or three lifeguards and said a review of the pay scale may be a factor in the lack of applications.
The Plymouth Park Department is gearing up for the summer season. The community pool will open on Monday, June 3rd and that will also be the first week of day camp.
