Three people, including a 16-month-old child, were treated for minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Dogwood Road on Tuesday afternoon, June 24th.
Marshall County Central Dispatch received the call at approximately 12:30 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a 2020 Kia passenger car driven by 22-year-old Andrew Spangler of Mishawaka had failed to yield while attempting to cross U.S. 6, pulling into the path of an oncoming 2024 Volkswagen SUV driven by 24-year-old Sydney Nykiel, 24, of Nappanee. The failure to yield resulted in a right-angle collision between the two vehicles.
Both drivers, as well as a 16-month-old female passenger riding in Nykiel's vehicle, were transported to Bremen Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by Bremen Police, Bremen Fire, Tri-County EMS, the Indiana State Police, and Newcomer's Towing.
