Reports indicate a minor earthquake occurred this past weekend in southeastern Illinois. The U.S. Geological Survey released information this week that it had confirmed a 2.4 magnitude earthquake took place Saturday night at around 10 p.m. CT. It was centered near the town of Enfield in White County. The quake did no appreciable damage and was barely felt throughout the region. Experts believe it was a product of activity in the Wabash Seismic Zone which encompasses much of southern Illinois.
