The Marshall County REMC Operation Round Up board has awarded $5,000 to five local organizations, providing funding to support a wide range of community programs serving Marshall County residents.
99+1 From Ashes to Fire Revival Ministry received funding to help cover the cost of brochures and Bibles in preparation for the launch of their mobile outreach events. The ministry focuses on providing support, connection, and a path forward through faith-based encouragement for individuals battling addiction, mental health challenges, and life instability.
Argos High School's Track and Field Team received a grant to purchase supplies and uniforms for its inaugural season. The program gives students the opportunity to stay physically active while building teamwork, leadership, discipline, and perseverance.
Integrity Kids Inc. received funding to help cover the cost of community meals for its 50 summer camp participants. The organization provides after-school care and youth development programming for children in Marshall County from kindergarten through high school.
Scouting America's LaSalle Council received funding to help cover the cost of matched day-camp scholarships for Marshall County Scouts. Scouting America's mission centers on building character, citizenship, and leadership through outdoor programs and experiential learning — developing the next generation of community-minded volunteers and leaders.
The Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ Foundation received funding to help provide unhoused individuals in Marshall County with temporary lodging and necessities while they work toward a stable income and permanent housing. The foundation serves vulnerable members of the community through faith-based outreach and care.
The Operation Round Up program allows Marshall County REMC members to support worthy causes simply by rounding up their monthly electric bills to the next highest dollar. Those small contributions add up to make a meaningful difference for organizations across the service territory. The Marshall County Community Foundation plays a key role in making these donations possible.
The next round of Operation Round Up grants will be awarded in July. Charitable organizations within the Marshall County REMC service territory are eligible to apply, regardless of whether they are REMC members. Organizations may receive a grant only once within a 12-month cycle. Applications are available online at marshallremc.com/operation-round-up.
