Marshall County LEPC to host annual Hazmat Exercise in Plymouth on August 29

The Marshall County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is inviting public safety professionals and community partners to participate in its annual hazmat training exercise, scheduled for Saturday, August 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lincoln Education Center in Plymouth.

The discussion-based exercise will center on a simulated anhydrous ammonia leak near a school, providing participants with a realistic scenario to test emergency response coordination and decision-making across multiple agencies.

Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Jack Garner is encouraging broad participation from across the public safety community. Representatives from the following fields are urged to sign up: fire and hazmat teams, law enforcement, EMS, public health and hospitals, schools, transportation, mass care services, agriculture and environmental agencies, elected officials, and media.

Registration is required. Interested participants can get more information from Marshall County EMA.
