A man was arrested in Montezuma for battery involving woman and a small child.
Deputies were called to a home in Montezuma during the early morning hours on a report that a man struck a woman and one-year-old child.
Upon arrival, deputies found a woman who they believed to have been struck several times and a baby that also appeared to have been struck.
Zachary Gilman, 39, was taken into custody. Deputies also found methamphetamine in the home.
Gilman was taken to the Parke County Jail on battery and meth charges.
Deputies were assisted by the Montezuma Town Marshal's Office.
