Parke County Deputies were dispatched Sunday to the intersection of CR 1050 N and CR 400 E for a report of a two vehicle accident.
Initial reports indicated that one male subject was entrapped in a vehicle and unconscious. Upon investigation, it was determined that a 2003 Honda SUV, traveling eastbound on CR 1050 North, crossed the center line and collided with a 2004 Chevrolet passenger car going westbound.
The driver of the SUV, a 17-year-old male from Cayuga, was evaluated for injuries at the scene and released.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 78-year-old male from Tangier, was airlifted from the scene by IU Lifeline with unknown injuries.
Parke County EMS, IU Lifeline, Bloomingdale First Responders, Marshall Rescue, DD Towing, and the Fountain County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
