The Lawrence County Board has voted to purchase the communication tower located at the E-911 Center in Bridgeport.
The move to buy the structure from American Messaging Services has been looked at for a long time. It was initially thought that the county owned the tower, but that is not the case. Approved was a resolution for the adoption of the 10-year county hazard mitigation plan was required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in order to get federal assistance.
Three reappointments were approved:
Greg Smith to the Eagle Branch Drainage District (3-year term)
A.J. Mushrush to the Big Slough Drainage District (3-year term)
Bill Siegle to the English Pond Drainage District (3-year term)
