Jordan's Way to benefit Humane Society of Putnam County

The festivities begin at 10 a.m. and will look to help raise funds by way of special games, challenges and other festivities on the Humane Society of Putnam County's Facebook page.

A fundraiser aimed at remembering a dog lost to cancer, as well as raising funds and awareness of shelter animals will be in full force Thursday. 

Jordan's Way, created by Kris Rotonda four years ago after his beloved dog, Jordan was lost to cancer, will be coming to the Humane Society of Putnam County Thursday. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. and will look to help raise funds by way of special games, challenges and other festivities on the Humane Society of Putnam County's Facebook page. 

"Kris does a Facebook live event for three hours with high, non stop energy. Jordan's Way's mission is to visit all shelters and rescues in all 50 states and they reached out to us," said Tammy Eastham. 

Eastham said there is a need for volunteers. Anyone wishing to participate is asked to arrive at the shelter by 8:30 a.m. Sept. 12. She is looking forward to the challenges. 

"Jordan's Way will be completing challenges to help raise as much money as possible. For example, the director will receive a pie in the face if we raise $100 in 5 minutes. There are lots of challenges and games, the tortilla smack in the face, slime buckets, ice bucket challenge, etc. Volunteers are not required to participate in the challenges, but are required to bring the fun, smiles and laughs," Eastham said.
