Plymouth man arrested on domestic battery charge ffter altercation

A Plymouth man was arrested Thursday afternoon on a domestic battery charge after a patrol officer witnessed an altercation unfold in an alleyway.

On Thursday, August 27, Patrolman Thornton with the Plymouth Police Department was sitting stationary behind a vehicle parked in an alleyway that was blocking traffic. The officer watched as a male and female got into an altercation, and the vehicle pulled away into the roadway with another party hanging onto the moving vehicle.

Patrolman Thornton stopped the vehicle at Jefferson and Fifth Streets and detained Fernando Baca Villagomez, 37, of Warana Drive in Plymouth.

During the officer's investigation, injuries were noticed on the other party. Villagomez was taken into custody, transported to the Marshall County Jail, and booked for domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury. He is held on a $1,500 cash bond.
