The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 has arrested a southeastern Illinois man on child sex offenses. Reports indicate that 26 year old Braxton Allen of Flora was arrested this week and was charged with 2 counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class X Felony. Those charges stem from an investigation into allegations of an incident in May of 2021 in Clay County Illinois. An arrest warrant was issued for Allen by the Clay County States Attorney and he was taken into custody by Flora Police. Allen was taken to the Clay County Jail and was being held there on the warrant pending a detention hearing in court.
