Two Plymouth residents are facing theft charges after being arrested Monday afternoon in connection with an incident at a local restaurant.
On the afternoon of Monday, April 6, Patrolman Thornton of the Plymouth Police Department conducted interviews with two suspects believed to be associated with the reported theft. Following the officer's investigation into the incident, 46-year-old Ashli A. Tanner and 53-year-old Charlie F. Carlisle were taken into police custody.
Both Tanner and Carlisle, who reside in the 11,000 block of 9th Road in Plymouth, were transported to the Marshall County Jail. They were booked on preliminary charges of theft with a value of at least $750.
Authorities have not released the name of the restaurant involved or specific details regarding the stolen property at this time.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
