Six-week program offered at no cost by Saint Joseph Health System; registration deadline is Nov. 6
Quitting tobacco is one of the hardest decisions a person can make — and one of the most important.
A free tobacco cessation program beginning next week in Plymouth offers residents the support and guidance to take that step.
The six-week program, led by Tobacco Cessation Facilitator Annette Haining, begins Tuesday, Nov. 10, and runs through Tuesday, Dec. 15. Sessions meet weekly from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marshall County Council on Aging Life Enrichment Center, located at 1305 West Harrison Street in Plymouth.
The program is provided free of charge by Saint Joseph Health System.
The health of every individual affects us all. Tobacco use remains one of the leading preventable causes of disease and death, and the benefits of quitting begin almost immediately — improved circulation, easier breathing, and a lowered risk of heart disease, cancer, and stroke.
But quitting is rarely easy. That's why having a trained facilitator and a structured, supportive environment can make the difference between another failed attempt and a lasting change.
Participants must register by this Friday, Nov. 6. For more information or to sign up, call Annette Haining at 574-948-4988.
Do you have the courage to quit tobacco? This program offers the tools, the support, and the encouragement to help you answer that question with a yes.
