The driver of a vehicle traveling eastbound on U.S. 30 at 100 MPH was arrested Thursday evening, and a passenger was arrested for possession.

On September 18th, at about 8:30 p.m., Patrolman Fisher with the Plymouth Police Department was patrolling westbound on U.S. 30 west of Pioneer Drive when he clocked a white Chevrolet Impala traveling eastbound at 100MPH in a posted 50 MPH Zone.

Patrolman Fisher turned around and stopped the vehicle on U.S. 30 just west of Pioneer Drive.

The 22-year-old driver, Malachi Asa Jakee Byrd of Fort Wayne, was arrested for reckless driving and booked into the Marshall County Jail.

After further investigation at the scene, a K-9 unit was deployed and indicated the presence of a substance on the Chevrolet. Marijuana was found in the vehicle. The back seat passenger, 20-year-old Diquan King, also of Fort Wayne, was cited for possession of marijuana and issued a summons to appear in Court on Tuesday, November 25th.
