The First National Bank of Monterey recently announced $75,000 in total funding was given to the Starke/Pulaski Habitat for Humanity through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis Community Multiplier Member Match Program.
The total amount included a $60,000 grant from FHLBank Indianapolis and a $15,000 matching contribution from The First National Bank of Monterey.
The grant will provide financial support for Habitat’s housing projects in Starke and Pulaski counties, helping offset costs associated with building homes and allow the organization to grow and serve additional residents in the future.
The Community Multiplier Member Match Program provides matching funds to eligible nonprofit organizations that support the construction or preservation of affordable housing. Participating FHLBank Indianapolis members may receive up to $60,000 in grant funding, but must contribute a 25 percent match minimum.
“We are incredibly grateful to The First National Bank of Monterey and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis for their investment in our mission. The funding will help us continue providing a hand up, not a handout, to families in need of safe, decent, and affordable housing. Together, we are creating opportunities for local families to build stability, achieve homeownership, and strengthen our communities for generations to come,” said Steve Morrison, executive director of Starke/Pulaski Habitat for Humanity.
