James Brewer, chairman of the Lawrence County Board is set to be the guest speaker at the upcoming meeting of the Lawrence County Historical Society next week. The meeting is on Monday, June 23rd at 7 p.m. at the History Center in downtown Lawrenceville.
Brewer will discuss the ongoing renovations and other improvements being made to the Lawrence County Courthouse, which was built in 1889. The county board is underway with a major project with work on both the interior and exterior of the building at 1100 State Street. The windows, elevator, steps and sidewalks are being replaced.
The program is free and open to the public.
