Early Sunday morning, county police were dispatched to U.S. 31 at 14C Road for reports of a domestic issue in a vehicle.
At approximately 3:14 in the morning, Deputy Wozniak was dispatched to the area. The Marshall County Central Dispatch Center maintained live updates by one of the parties in the vehicle. The location was stationary near the intersection however, no vehicle was found.

Officer Wozniak located a cell phone in the open field, which belonged to the female. Officers then went to an address in the 17,000 block of 16C Road and located the two subjects involved.
After an investigation, it was found that both parties had battered one another. Arinda Conley, age 29, was taken to the Marshall County Jail for domestic battery and given a $500 cash bond. Derek Conley, 34, was booked in for domestic battery, interfering with reporting of a crime, and possession of marijuana and held on a $500 cash bond

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
