Connie A. Lawton, age 56, of Rochester, IN, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 in her home. She was born to John and Patricia (Harfield) Hardesty on September 21, 1967 in Plymouth, IN.
Connie graduated from Plymouth High School in 1986. She married James E. Lawton, Jr. on May 14, 2005. She worked as a waitress at Ruth’s Diner in Bourbon and Tippecanoe, cleaned at Bremen Castings, and worked at Indiana Glass, Action Glass, and Topps Industry. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, caring for her plants, doing puzzles, diamond painting, listening to music, mostly rock-n-roll, and dancing.
Connie is survived by her husband, James Lawton, Jr. of Rochester, IN; her daughters: Crystal (Ronnie) Tyler, Jr. of Bremen, IN; Cambria (Ray) Cook of Bremen, IN; her grandchildren: Brooklyn; Boston; Brianna; Braxton; Jaymin; Jaydin; Ronnie (Hannah); and Lydia; her great-grandchildren: Ezekiel and Donnie; her sisters: Cindy Price; Karen (Adam) Leazenby; and her brother, John Hardesty.
Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Hardesty (4/3/2008); her father, John Hardesty (5/7/2001); her son, Cameron Lawton (1/2022); and her sister, Candy (2/2010).
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Sommers officiating.
The burial will take place in Tyner Cemetery (Tyner, IN).
