On Monday night, Plymouth Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson presented his recommendation to the Board of Public Works and Safety regarding the purchase of two new ¾ ton pick-up trucks.
After reviewing the quotes from Oliver Ford Lincoln and Auto Park Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram, he recommended accepting the low quote from Auto Park.
Davidson said the Oliver Ford quote for two Ford F-250 trucks was $105,036, and they offered $1,300 for the trade-in value, making the bottom line $103,736.
The lowest quote from Auto Park was $92,898 for two Ram 2500s, and the trade-in value was $3,500, making their bottom line $89,398.
Davidson recommended the Auto Park quote because it was $7,000 less than the Oliver Ford quote. He said while the quote from Auto Park didn’t include some specifications, he could add that for $1,000.
There was a question from a council member on whether the quote qualified because it didn’t include all the specs. Davidson said when putting the specs together, he used the Ford specifications but made it clear that another dealership could quote vehicles with specs as close as possible.
The Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously approved the Auto Park quote for the two ¾ ton pick-ups.
