Chase Witsman of Mount Carmel, Illinois is the 2024 Lawrence County Open sponsored by Faulkner Auto Golf Tournament champion.
The 28 year old former 2010 Illinois high school state champion for Mt Carmel High School shot a two day total of 3 under par 141 to win by 1 shot over Sam Emmons at 142. Defending Open champion Jacob Zwilling was third at 143 and Craig Toler fourth at 144. Witsman was able to card a round of 1 under 71 on Saturday during brutal conditions with heavy rain and wind and then followed up with a round of 2 under 70 under better condition with clouds and sun mixed to claim the title. Winning the "A" Flight championship was Stacy Vitahemi of Clinton, Indiana with 153, "B" Flight champion was Nicholas Claycomb of Vincennes at 153, "C" Flight was won by Ryan Dowty of Lawrence County with 162 and the "D" Flight winner was Andy Jackson of Terre Haute, Indiana with 167. The Senior championship was won by Rick Leonard of Vincennes with 150 and the Super-Senior champion was Sam Peoples of Terre Haute with 163.
