Jayden Goff scored the winning basket on a baseline drive with just over 2 seconds left in the game to give the Little Illini Conference (LIC) a 74-73 win Sunday night over the National Trail Conference (NTC) in the 33rd Annual Central Illinois Boys All-Star Game held at Waldrip Gym on the campus of Cumberland High School.
The 6'5" first team Class A All-State senior was named the LIC MVP as he led the team in scoring with 18 points along with Leighton Jones of Casey-Westfield. The NTC MVP was Cody Zimdars of Louisville (North Clay) and Jackson Julius of Casey-Westfield won the 3-pt shooting competition.
Two other Indians also played for the winning LIC squad coached by Lawrenceville head coach Tad Shick and former Casey-Westfield head coach Tom Brannon. Seniors Noah Wilson and Zander Cessna had 6 and 5 points respectively.
