A two-out walk off single in the bottom of the 8th inning by Carter Davis enabled the Red Hill baseball Salukis to nip the Oblong Panthers 7-6 at the Tank Farm in Bridgeport Tuesday.
The Salukis had built a 6-3 lead heading into the top of the 7th, but Oblong rallied to tie the game at 6 and extend it into extra-innings before Davis's big hit. Red Hill scored 7 runs on 14 hits and 1 error while the Panthers managed 6 runs on 7 hits and made 3 errors.
Brody Wattles had 3 hits and an RBI, Davis two hits and the game-winning RBI, Jaxon Kiser added 2 hits and 2 RBI and Avery Arbuckle 2 hits as the Salukis ran their winning streak to 3 and their overall record to 5-1.
The Salukis next see action at home Thursday as they host Dieterich at 4:30 p.m.
