Shelbyville junior Shia Veach has been named the Beth Prince State Farm Athlete of the Week.
Veach continued his strong cross country season Saturday at the Whiteland Invitational, earning a first-place finish in 16:12.
The SHS boys cross country team finished fifth overall, which is its best finish at the Whiteland Invitational since 2019.
Veach's best time this season came on Sept. 6 at the Rick Weinheimer Invitational. He finished in 16:08 (27th place, large school division).
