In its final appearance at the Indiana Crossroads Conference Wrestling Meet, Triton Central claimed the championship.
The Tigers (photo) won two weight class titles and had three second-place finishers to accumulate 231.5 points to capture the title.
Monrovia was runner-up at 223.5 to finish ahead of Indianapolis Lutheran (208.5) and Speedway (201.5).
Triton Central will join the Hoosier Legends Conference in the fall, along with Monrovia and Speedway.
Triton Central’s first title came at 113 points where Gage Bryant defeated Beech Grove’s Chris Capps with a first-period pinfall. The freshman is 19-8 this season.
At 150 pounds, Triton Central junior Braxton Zimmerman won his first two matches with quick pins then defeated Speedway’s Kason Davis, 12-6, in the championship match.
Earning second-place points for the Tigers were Liam Thompson (132), Conner Phipps (138) and Dayne Bailey (175).

Hoosier Heritage Conference
At Yorktown Saturday, Shelbyville finished sixth, just 15 points out of fourth place.
Greenfield-Central won the team title with 226 points. New Palestine was runner-up at 199. Yorktown finished third at 180.5.
Shelbyville junior Brady Bryant was crowned champion at 157 pounds. Bryant scored three pinfall victories to improve to 32-4 this season.
Three more Golden Bears finished second in their respective weight classes.
Tripp Garner (126), Julian Eads (165) and Reuben Martins-Thomas (190) all advanced to championship matches before suffering their first loss.
IHSAA State Finals
The inaugural IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Finals was held Friday at Corteva Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Shelbyville sophomore Jessica Price suffered a first-period pinfall loss to Lafayette Jefferson’s Senniah Henderson at 105 pounds to end her season.
Henderson advanced to finish fourth in the state championship.
At 190 pounds, Triton Central sophomore Zoie Gray was pinned in the second period by Rensselaer Central’s Stacia Crabtree, who advanced to finish fifth in the weight class.
