Shelbyville High School will honor a pair of past football teams prior to the Golden Bears' home opener of the 2024 season on Aug. 23 at McKeand Stadium.
The 1975 and 1984 Shelbyville football teams captured South Central Conference championships. All former players and staff are invited to attend and be honored prior to kickoff.
Former Shelbyville assistant football coach Dennis Hearne is leading the effort to contact anyone involved with those two conference championship football teams.

Shelbyville kicks off the 2024 season on Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. against Greensburg. The remaining home games on the schedule are Sept. 13 against New Castle, Sept. 20 against Greenfield-Central, Oct. 4 against New Palestine and Oct. 18 against Pendleton Heights.
Road games for the Golden Bears are Aug. 30 at Rushville, Sept. 6 at Delta, Sept. 21 at Yorktown and Oct. 11 at Mt. Vernon.
